I want to jump in and throw some punches but honestly I have been in such a state of euphoria since January I just can't even get myself riled up Damn, Obama does work miracles.

I'll take what I've seen since January hands DOWN to anything I saw from 2001-2008. Now, maybe I know how all those die hard patriotic Bush fans felt for the his two terms. I think I'm going to enjoy our turn. It is so nice to be on this side.

The same sex marriage protests have got lots more coverage then the tea party coverage.

Flip - I guess you like no money in your 401K, huge government, spending money that your kids kids will be paying back, and bowing down.

I like the exact opposite.

Hate to tell you but my 401k was TANKING big time to the tune of -40% long before the change over.

It would have been awesome if all that deregulation tht Bush & Mccain were so all about hadn't happened, but that's just sour grapes now.

I don't like the economy but this bus was headed off the cliff long before my guy took office. Remember he's on only been 14 weeks or so.

Again, I'd love to get fired up...but I just can't. Sorry. I am liking what I am seeing. Is he perfect, nope. Do I love him compared to the previous administration, hell yes.

That's all. It is really nice to be on the other side of that fence and just wanted to say I am really enjoying it. Now, I really do know what the Bush lovers were feeling for 8 years. Very sweet.

Look Cid - i just rattled off 25 or so items that are really indefensible. A "centrist" such as yourself should find many of those things absolutly abhorrent.

Instead, it is more of "cheney shot someone"..."cheney is a war criminal"..."bush is a warmonger"...

This man, four months in, is a disgrace. A complete and utter disgrace.

And for a man who was supposed to bring people together, the polls show that he is the most polarizing president we have ever seen at this point in a term.

I have no desire to insult you or pick a fight or get my panties all in a bunch about all of this. Really I don't. My comment was (partially) tongue in cheek. You know I was never the one calling him the "ONE" ... seriously, he's human. They are all politicians when its all said and done.

We can agree to disagree. I am just saying imagine how you feel about Obama. That's how I felt about Bush/Mccain. It is just an entirely different feeling now that the shoe is on the other foot. I am trying to be sensitive that that. REALLY.

I would venture to guess that your 401-k was doing great right up until about Jan 08. Remember, In Oct of 07 the Dow reached an all-time high of 14,000+. Most 401-k's tanked at the end of last summer and into the election period.

You just refuse to educate yourself, so I will educate you. The following is a video of the 2004 hearing on Fannie/Freddie (the genesis of this problem) that was called by the Republicans...Dems saying that Fannie/Freddie were fine...Pockets getting greased the whole time.

I predict Senator Dodd will announce his retirement before an embarrassing loss to a Republican in the 2010 election.

From your mouth to God's ears SJ! Although, I heard on the radio the other day that Dodd has already raised millions for that race (thanks to the Hollywood/Soros/Daily Kook crowds). He is down in the polls though.

I see your point SJ but I could offer a counterpoint to all that you say but we'd just end up going back and forth. In the blame game & politics the target is always moving.

We could drag up Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter....where does that get us. No where but re-treading the same old arguments (granted ... on both sides).

My focus is on moving forward from here and so far ... though not perfect ... I like the direction we're going. I don't expect you or any other die hard conservative to like it. No more than I liked Bush. That's my simple point. (I especially liked the authority to shoot to kill in the Somalia situation. Kind of took a little of the wind out of he's a lover and not a fighter fear mongering scenerio.)

Again, 14 weeks in, I am happy. The financial mess was a long time coming and anyone who didn't see it coming - REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT - should be strung up. I knew it was coming when the lady who helps me around my house bought a house that cost more than mine by a factor of 20% and I have a nice house.

Over and out...back to my planning for JUNE! I need a vacation. Big Time.
