RAIN

Post by hugo »

Good news for people, creatures and plants--after the driest early summer in MANY years, most of the island got at least 2.5 inches of rain last night! Plenty of thunder too. :D

Hoorayyy! Maybe now Pia won't have to call the water truck now! :D Wish I was there. We had some GREAT rainstorms last year when I was visiting and it was one of the highlights of my time on St. John! (maybe because it mostly rained at night! LOL!)

We were there during Tropical Storm Chris in '06. Definitely NOT one of our better STJ memories, but I'm glad they are getting rain now!

Hi

Too funny CG :)

As many of you (may) know, I am in Kansas City right now and hubby finally broke down and ordered water to be delivered either today or tomorrow Sunday and after we received 10" of water in our cistern due to last nights rain called and cancelled the delivery  but don't feel bad for the water company as he is "broke down" (his words) and didn't know when he will be up and running - forgot to tell us that :)

Yeh for the rain - woooo hoooo :) :) :)

Friday night's storm was very impressive. We get thunder and lightening in Kentucky, but I've never experienced anything like this. It went on all night and the thunder literally shook our villa. The lightening lit up everything. It was fun in a scary kind of way. It is very dry there compared to this time last year. Hope you continue to get more rain minus any and all "H".

Pia, maybe we'll meet on our next trip. :)
