daytrip

Post by jostuandme »

Does anyone know of companies similiar to New Horizons II that do a day trip with 12-20 people to jost and snorkeling for the day? Not interested in doing the Bathes or any of that , just want to find a cheaper alternative to explore jost. I know about the ferry on Saturday and Sunday, but was looking for something else. We really want to just go to Foxy's area and Soggy Dollar area and maybe a short snorkle stop. Basically dont want to pay 1000$ for a private charter.

I get why you thought that. I was trying to say a larger charter not the little 6 person boat because that will bring the price down. Thanks for trying to help. I appreciate it. NOt trying to snap at you,
I was typing on my phone and trying to be brief.
There will just be 2 us and we usually just rent a powerbaot for the 2 of us but want to do a cheaper trip this time.
We just want to bar hop over there and not spend our day jumping from island to island. The ferry probably is the best answer,, that way we can do what we want. Yall all seem to know every possible option, so I wanted to run it by you, Thanks again.

day trip to Jost

Cruz Bay Water Sports runs a nice trip on a pretty sail boat (a big cat) called Island Spirit that can carry a lot of people but isn't usually that full. I think they stop for a snorkle at Hawksnest aand then on to Jost. I don't know about cost but I think the BVI wants $25 a head just to go in and out. I suspect that that trip like most of theirs goes off the Westin Dock So at least there is a place to park.
any landing you walk away from

You might want to try and post your dates here and see if you can get some other forumites to go along then you could book some of the charters that will take you where you want to go.

Calypso might be another option for you. Here is a link to their site. It is $110 per person PLUS the $25 cash BVI customs fee.

We actually did this trip a couple of years ago. For the same reason as you. Just wanted one snorkel stop, a stop at Foxy's then on to Soggy Dollar at White Bay.

The boat was great, crew was good. The only negative that I remember was that there was a LOT of DOWN TIME at Foxy's waiting for our lunch. IF I remember right, our orders were taken on the boat & phoned into the restaurant. But, another large group got there just before us. And it seemed like there was a lot of lost time just waiting around & really cut into our time on White Bay after.

Again, might have just been an "off day" for everything. But, did just want to mention it.

Good luck in your planning!

Sue
