Has anyone stayed at a villa called Golden Dragon. If so, any information would be appreciated. Thanks

I have it booked for June 2007...I'm curious, too. The reviews in the trip planning are very good. If anyone has stayed there recently, we would like to hear about it.
It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!
Golden Dragon
Sorry I didn't notice this post before now.
The Golden Dragon is a stunning home. I have stayed at or visited many villas on St. John and the Dragon is among the top 3.
The house is built from stone and is simply gorgeous. The furnishing are exquisite with a far eastern touch. The kitchen is also decked out with the finest including a hidden SubZ fridge that blends in with the wall and takes a bit of searching to find...way cool.
The Dragon has a nice pool that is central to the villa with a wet bar as well. But no hot tub or spa.
The owner of this house owns a commercial HVAC company, so AC is wonderful and the water pressure in the showers is first rate.
The view is good, not breathtaking. Privacy is very good. Construction noise is minimal even with a couple houses being built on the street.
This is a house that will make you say "WOW" many times for the first few days you are there.
If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi everybody! John and I stayed at Golden Dragon for one week of our 2005 trip. It truly is a beautiful home. Top notch kitchen, very nice interior design. good AC as already mentioned, very pretty (albiet small) pool, big screen TV. Our only quibble with it is that the beds are not so comfortable. Very, very stiff! I did a review of it for the forum when we got back, but if you have any particular questions, feel free to PM me.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
There are no half baths in the main pod. The main pod has one big room which makes up the living, dining, and kitchen space. Beyond the kitchen is a full bath, and beyond that is the master bedroom. So, you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom. Of course, that means if someone is using that bathroom there is no access to the MBR until they are done.
The rest of the space consists of a pod that has two bedrooms/bathrooms on top of each other (outside access only), and a pod that has a seperate pool kitchen and laundry. There is a fourth bedroom/bath underneath the main pod too, again, outside access only. The big gray pod up near the driveway is personal storage space for the family that owns the house and is locked off.
I just remembered one more thing we didn't like about the house. There's no safe! There were actually two safes in the house but both were for the family's use. This may have changed, but you may wish to check on that if it matters to you.

golden dragon
After our stay this June, I will post a trip report with photos of the villa.

Golden Dragon certainly looks like a fine house, but depending on your preferences, I see two potential problems.
The view from the house is to my mind dramatically less than is normal in this price range. It looks like an easternly view without Ram's Head or Reef Bay, maybe not even Ditleef Point.
My bet is the pool is pretty cool(temperaturewise, not esthetically as it is gorgeous), particularly in the winter as it misses the late afternoon sun by the ridge and is partially blocked by the south wing earlier. It would be nice to know from previous renters if the pool is ever warm enough to go into.
