Outdoor concert food suggestions
I am going to see the Hartford Symphony next weekend with a large group of girls. We have lawn seat so we are all bring some sort of "no fork" food to share.
There will be the usual cheese and fruit, shrimp, and a few desserts.
I am looking for something with some meat to it, literally and figuratively.
I was thinking of mini tenderloin sandwiches with horseradish cream but wanted something a little more exciting.
Any thoughts?

Are you looking for stuff that you can just nibble on, or will you be able to set up a table? We go to Tanglewood every year and our spreads have gotten more and more elaborate every time...but we stick to stuff you don't have to cut up. We bring different salads--not lettuce, but stuff like curried chicken, pasta salad, or olives, etc, usually cold fried chicken, and some cheeses, pate, always some fruit (and wine
).
With no forks...what about doing assorted crostini? Like smoked salmon, cream cheese, and chive; chicken, roasted pepper, and olive paste; you could do your beef tenderloin/horseradish too, plus one vegetarian one, like mozzarella-tomato.
If that's too futsy, what about proscuitto-wrapped things? Like (blanched and chilled) asparagus wrapped in proscuitto, or grissini wrapped in proscuitto?
Final thought, things on sticks. I love food on sticks. You could do chicken, shrimp, and tenderloin skewers, cooked and chilled, with matching dipping sauces.
