Another Ferry Question

Post by di »

Given the changes in ferry times and prices, I am trying to make sure I have all of my information correct. I want to be sure to have exact change set aside for the ferry when we arrive, because I do think that the fare being $6.10 from Red Hook may cause problems at the window when purchasing tickets. The price for each bag from Red Hook is $3 according to the ferry info at the top of the page. Is this still accurate? I always keep my carry on with me (it is fabric) and my purse. Are you charged for these items that you hold or only the larger ones loaded by the men at the dock?

Thanks for the information and help. I leave Sunday and am getting the last minute details in order.

Bags are $2.00 each ($2.50 each from/to CA) and only applies to your checked bags - no fee for carry on or purse unless your carry on is one of those "stuffed" type roller bags

they charged for our carry-on's...which were not "stuffed" and fit w/in the requirements for the airlines 45 linear inches. they take all bags @ the dock unless it is a purse/camera/man bag

I don't give them the choice of taking my carry on I just carry it on and it rides between my legs on the ferry My cameras and electronics are in it so I don't want it on the bottom of the pile

They shouldn't be charging you for carry ons... just hold on to it. If they are actually handling the bags for you then that is a different story.
