Just back from Cozumel

Post by augie »

The family and I just got back late last night from 10 days on and around Cozumel.

I had the underwater housing with me, so topside as well as scuba pictures, and an agonizingly long trip report soon come.

Sure sucked waking up and putting on long pants today instead of my bathing suit...

Tequila for breakfast?

Did you hit Playa del Carmen or anywhere else on the mainland?

We did take a day off from diving to take a tour to the ruins at Coba, and also visited a Mayan village where we canoed, ziplined, walked through the jungle, had an authentic Mayan lunch, were "blessed" by a Mayan shaman, and rapelled into a cenote.

It was the longest day of the trip but very interesting and fun.

Coba is wicked cool. Its amazing to stand at the top of an excavated pyramid and realize how big the place is and how much is unexcavated. One of my favorite spots. Bring it on!
