"villa" help!
"villa" help!
Hey all-been off this board for a while; knew we weren't going to be able to make it to STJ the past year so stayed away from reading temptation
We did make it on a cruise to STT, and hanging out at the Happy Buzzard bar in downtown Charlotte Amalie (probably my favorite on STT) felt so good it was almost depressing to get back on the cruise ship
But I've given in to the call of STJ and am planning a trip back for Feb/March and need HELP! on picking a place to stay.
After much research I've narrowed it down to:
Fishbone
Casa Blanca
Casa Contant
Suite Dreams
Blue Aweigh
It's just my husband and me-views are most important-has to have some kind of deck/balcony area to sit out, pool is nice, but not necessary, place can be dated as long as it's clean. We think that Casa Blanca doesn't have much for a view, but the price is good. We're torn between staying close to Cruz Bay and saving on car rental and being out where it's quiet in Fish Bay-we've stayed out at Rendezvous Bay before and loved it.
How quiet (relatively) would some of these places be if you're familiar with them. Any construction/neighbor noise issues? And does anyone have any pictures or first hand experience?
Thanks so much-you're always helpful!

Hi toni,
We stayed at Fishbone last January for 9 nights. No pool or hot tub as you probably know. Great view of Fish Bay and Dittleff Point from the deck.

Good privacy, no nearby houses are visible due to the vegetation. No construction noise. We heard noise from the people staying at Unicorn down the hill a couple evenings, but most of the time all we could hear was the crashing surf from Dittleff.
It's about a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay. Great stargazing as advertised. We could see the sun setting into the ocean, but I would guess that only is possible in December and January. Maybe early February and late November.

The place is not fancy, but it was clean. Pretty rustic, but that didn't bother us. We really liked the outdoor shower. No dishwasher or washer or dryer. No dresser which was a surprise. Maybe the biggest gripe we had was with the outdoor lighting. It was hard to see the ground from the car to the bottom of the steps at night and the ground is pretty uneven.

Cindy the property manager is very nice and she lives nearby.
I think they have raised the price since we stayed there.
PM me if you have questions.
