Trip report June 9-19 Part 1
My husband and I have been going to St John since 1989. Lots of changes, but it is still our favorite place to go and relax. This was our 8th trip.
We left Raleigh-Durham at 6:40 and got to St Thomas at 3:30. Carry-on only. We just made the 4:00 Charlotte A. ferry and got to St John at 4:45. Private Homes was waiting for us and took us to St John Car rental to get our jeep. Five mins. later we were on our way to Sago palms. It is 2 miles down Centerline then left almost a mile down dirt road, but not a bad road.We were to only ones on it.
Sago Palms is not new, but very nicely decorated. I loved the art and stonework. The view from St Thomas to Jost is amazing. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Kitchen had everything you need. Lots of spices and booze. Plenty of deck space with nice chairs and tables, shaded and in the sun. The pool is wonderful. We watched all the boats go by each day from the pool. There is also a small kitchen on the pool deck with a laundry room. There were plenty of beach towels and wonderful chairs for the beach that you could put on your back to carry. Several cooler sizes and some snorkel gear , but we had our own. AC , but we only used it in our bedroom. I always liked having a villa that was open, but I enjoyed not having any bugs or animals in the house with the screen doors. The view was still wonderful. Nice breeze. Hot tub was nice looking at the water or the stars. This is my favorit house and we have booked it again for next year.

road
Compared to other roads I thought it was easy, dark at night but easy. We have had some really tough roads and driveways where we have stayed. But there are better places to get to closer to town.

Hi Wanda! It was great meeting you at the Beach Bar recently. After hearing about Sago from you I checked it out on line and looks very nice. We were at Anole which is a ways down John's Head Road. I don't think you can get much darker at night (or rockier) but we didn't have any problems coming and going at any hour. My trip report soon come...
