Just got back and NOT depressed

Post by verjoy »

Maybe it hasn't hit yet or maybe it is because we are retired and don't have to go back to work.

Had a super time, wonderful villa (Sol Inclination), and the flights went well.

Our dog Phoebe is alive and doing better, although the vet said she had a bad reaction to getting her teeth cleaned, trachea collapsed and she needed oxygen overnight. We have a huge vet bill to pay, but just glad to get her back.

Our grandkids went island on us. They took to snorkeling like they have done it all of their lives. They got their hair braided. They even went parasailing.

We did not take many pictures, but it wasn't necessary, as everyone else did. I will borrow some of theirs and post along with a TR if I can figure out how to do it. Grandaughter and Sons had some amazing pictures of sunsets etc.

I have decided that if I DO get depressed, I will start making Lime and Coconut with all that rum we brought back. Wait...maybe I'd better start drinking it now as a preventative!

Welcome back, verjoy! Re-entry is a lot easier if you don'r have the mundane job to go back to! Looking forward to reading your trip report! And seeing the pictures that you had taken for you (you really are retired, aren't you?)

July can't come soon enough!!

We loved the villa. Everyone had their own space and plenty of communal area too. The bed was very comfortable. Very nice finishes and furnishings. The views from the property can't be beat.

Our bedroom had the outdoor shower which could get a little breezey. The view from it was incredible. That bedroom gets the sunrise so if you want to sleep late take eyeshades.

Our son and grandaughter told us they took 525 still pictures and 5 hours of video, so I'm sure alot of it was the villa. Our other son produces video for an advertising agency so he refuses to do it on vacation. He did take a lot of still photos though.

Driving up there was a little challenging until you get used to it. Make sure your rental jeep has good tires and brakes. Trying to park 3 vehicles there is difficult.

We were all wondering how that beautiful villa was built on that site!

Verjoy - I am glad to hear you liked the villa. We will be there next May. Did you find it too breezy? Were you able to eat some of your meals outside?

I have heard about the driveway - luckily we will only have one jeep!

Thanks for the update.

The veranda downstairs was somewhat protected, so it was nearly always fine. Also, the pool and hot tub were OK. The upstairs veranda and the shower got more wind, but usable except for one morning and evening.

The good thing about the breeze was we did not have any problem with mosquitos except one evening. There was one of those mosquito rackets there but I didn't get to use it. Mosquitos usually find me, but I did not get one bite.:D

We usually ate lunch outside if we were there at the villa. Also had pizza out there in the evening, and drank coffee in the AM.

There is a sheer drop off on the left side of the front yard and in the back by the driveway. It makes for a great view, but I can see why young children should not stay there. Our grandson is 12, and not a rambuctious kid, so he did fine there.

With only one vehicle you should not have any problems parking and turning around. All the comments in the guest book were great, I'm sure you will love it like we did.
