all details complete except air

Post by wontongirl »

We've booked L'Espirit De LeVie, called Conrad for the Montero, booked a hotel in Memphis since it will be Memphis in May largest BBQ cookoff and music venue, booked Secret Harbour for one night before the villa is available, and set up powerboat with Jordan. Whew, that was done quickly. We have selected flights( usair again), but are still all working on points and such. No private chef for us this trip! I haven't been on the forum much lately but I am ready to get fired up again! We will definitely have to plan a get together and maybe even the powerboat trips on the same day. I'm working with 3 others this trip so it is getting tricky getting in what everyone wants to do. We know we are having brunch at Miss Lucys on Sunday while we are waiting for the villa to get ready and LimeInn Sunday evening because we just love it! I am alittle bummed we won't be at Bongo because I know what is there and what I dont need to take. After watching the Espirit video, I am definitely going to be okay with the villa change. I won't be suffering too much. We needed 3 BR's this time anyway.
My husband's Dad has been sick since Christmas eve and they thought he just had 2 blood clots in his legs that could possible break off and go to his lung. We thought this was really bad until we brought him to our hosptal here on Sunday and had them try to get to the bottom of his weight loss and a large mass on his back. In three short days we found out he has cancer all over the place, lungs, liver, bone, ribs, sternum..... siblings from NYC,College Station, Little Rock and Austin are heading to our house this weekend to figure out what to do. It is just a mess because his Mom has some big problems too. Everything all at once. Isn't that the way it goes. I guess we start chemo next week and try to get things set up for them. I am stressed , so throwing some STJ planning in has made the week somewhat brighter.

Wonton Girl - So sorry to hear about your dad! I have definitely found that looking forward to STJ can totally change one's perspective. What I have learned over my last few tough months is that grief is universal. We all feel it - whether for our parents, our children, our friends, our dogs, or a past president we never knew (Yes, I found myself crying watching Ford's funeral - not so much over Ford himself but watching the love and grief on his childrens' faces).

Hang in there & much peace to your family in this tough time.

Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about your hsband's Dad. I'm sure you and your husband are getting him in to the best hands.

I have watched the video of L espirit several times and it looks fabulous! I'm sure you will enjoy.
I have been looking at air fare for Nov. as well. tomorrow will be the first days flights open for our trip and I think I'm going to just do it and then not have to keep checking! Then we need a place for 2 nights before we go in our villa. I think it will be Estate Lindholm. I thought about S but I know I will just be longing to get on the ferry so why delay!

If we see you at Bongo in November I promise we won't get in the fountains! :)

So sorry about your Dad, Tammy.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Hey Tammy! We may see you at Miss Lucy's! That's one of the few things I actually insist on doing!

Tammy, sorry to hear about your husband's dad.

The Lime Inn is closed on Sundays, can you go another day? (I know this is urgent. This is, after all, a mere 11 months away.)

I just love this forum! Yall are all wonderful. Ruth- Thanks for telling me about LimeInn being closed. I needed the advance notice! I'll adjust my plans accordingly. I'm so excited about this trip. We booked the airfare earlier this evening. I used points so I was only out about 250$ for 2 tickets. We are flying Delta this trip. The tickets were higher than we have ever paid. Glad we had the points.
