Thanks and less than 100 days

Post by DnD »

I want to thank everyone for the information we have been able to pull from all the past trip reports and questions. I have been a lurker for the past year and thought it was time to join the fun.

My wife and I are heading to STJ in April for our 30th anniversary for 10 days, staying at Perelandra.

We have gone on a number of cruises and enjoyed them at the time, however my goal in going on the cruises was to find an island we could chill at and totally relax. We found STJ when we took an excursion from STT and with the first steps we took on Trunk Bay, we knew we had found it. You know that step, soft as talcum powder, sink to your ankles, wow!

Less than 100 days, the official countdown has begun!

Hi! Welcome to the forum! :D We'll be going right after you. And we also have only spent a short time (a few hours!) on STJ. It's very exciting to look forward to staying several days!

How exciting!!!!! I love the description of the sand... "and with the first steps we took on Trunk Bay, we knew we had found it. You know that step, soft as talcum powder, sink to your ankles, wow!" Have a great time and make sure to tell all the details!!

We will be on island 4/13 - 4/20. If we are both there at the same time, we should try and meet for a drink!
We are a group of 6, all adults ranging from 30 - 45.

DnD - that's exactly how we discoverd St. John as well! After seeing and exploring so many islands we too had discovered that STJ is SO UNLIKE any of the ones we've been to!

For me, it wasn't just the sand (although - your description is lovely and very true)- For me it is that it is so UNTAINTED & PRISTINE - almost everywhere on the island - one does not need to travel to the "one beach" that is somewhat secluded and clean - they are ALL NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC QUALITY on St. John!

ENJOY!
Peace,

Lisa
