Post by Jan&MikeVa »

Okay, on Friday I was totally out of commission, so Mike & I hung back at the hotel.   We did get in a swim and well...........that's about it. I can't exactly say what happened at the fest, but it was a very nice day, weather speaking. I think everyone had fun; here are some pics

The gang met at Cafe De Monde for Coffee and Beignets. All Jazzed Up and ready to go!

Friday morning came way too early and the phone started ringing around 9am! After some nudging we got up and headed to meet everyone at Cafe du Monde! Perfect second breakfast of the day! LOL

Friday was good fest weather, not too hot and not too sunny! A perfect day! Good folks, good food and good music. We did miss Jan and Mike though!

Friday night Jan and Mike stayed in, Rick and Christine had a date night alone and kenneth and I went with Elizabeth, Jerry and Margo to eat at O'Henry's on St Charles avenue on the balcony. It was a beautiful night for it!

We weren't out as late this night but it wasn't early either! Elizbeth and Jerry headed out to teir house after dinner and we gave Margo a ride back to her hotel. I love the French Quarter so any reason to be immersed in it is great for me! We got in some time after midnight.

A little more detail...

We watched the Iguanas first and caught a bit of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss before going over to the Blues Tent and seeing a bit of Tab Benoit.

Rick was happy to see that they had Pilsner Urquell on tap in that area.

We split up again and while some of us were eating at one of the food areas, we heard awesome Reggae coming from the Congo Square stage so we went over to watch Burning Spear. That was a REALLY good show!

Didn't really catch Sheryl Crow as we opted to stay at Burning Spear instead. Rick and Christine may have caught her but we didn't.

Billy Joel did not play this day; he played Saturday

Jan - your reports are great - can't wait to see the next one - just added the stuff you didn't mention cuz you weren't at fest. I kept saying that I wished ya'll were there cuz it was perfect weather (breezy, overcast, not too hot). Little did I realize that it was probably the BEST day for weather the whole fest.

Keep 'em coming Jan!!!
