Hey there Eric,

My 1st word is : WOW!! It was absolutely fantastic :D He's the man.
His set was a real good cross selection of his different styles. Just a few acoustic songs and pretty heavy in the electric blues. Hearing him sing Wonderful Tonight brought tears...yes, I was a bit of a sap, well maybe the alcohol helped just a teeny bit  Crossroads and Little Wing were my faves though.

Robert Randolph Family Band was the opener and boy did they get us going and warmed up for EC. I haven't googled them yet but I think they're from TN. They were great! Robert played a smokin' pedal steel and did some wild Hendrix. Actually Eric had him come out and play Crossroads with him which was the encore. Hope you get to check 'em out on the 22nd.

Fabulous venue too, was our 1st visit there and we'll be back for sure. Reminded us of the Tweeter Center/GreatWoods back in MA.

So Eric it was da bomb!

Just looked up Robert Randolph and he's from Jersey. Have you heard him before Eric?

He'll be w/EC while in the states I guess. Let me know how your show goes...

FYI

If you can find it and I'm not sure which year it was, but the Crossroads concert from San Antonio, I believe (I have it somewhere) on DVD.

Clapton, Guy, Randolph, et al. It's great watching.

Probably will not get to see Eric Clapton during his tour, but we did see his house on Antigua last month during our cruise stop there.

Hey bayer,
What'd you think of Antigua? Hubs and I stopped on a cruise before as well, rented a car for the day and had a blast! We didn't come across EC's house that I know of...but we have heard of his recovery place called Crossroads Centre. Friend of my hubs flew down soon after it opened to try and seek employment but didn't have the "proper credentials".

Eric IS the man  Seems so humble and down to earth. It's great that he wants to help others with addiction recovery too!

Later,
Kathy

We actually liked Antigua. We had booked a taxi driver for the day. My wife, daughter, her friend, a friend of my wife and her two sons were all traveling together so we were all in the same van. Our driver took us on a nice tour of the Island. One of the stops was at an area known as Shirley Heights which is a very high point overlooking the water. Across a small bay of water is another point and EC's house is built out on that point.

We visited Nelson's Dockyard and saw some unbelievable yachts. The April yachting event was coming up in two weeks and they were already beginning to show up. We stopped for lunch and some beach time at Turners Beach. Good food, good service and relatively nice beach. The sand was not as fine as STJ, but it was warm, there was sun and water. What more could you want? From that beach we could see Montserrat, although it was quite hazy that day.

I will try to post a picture of what I was told was EC's house tonight.

Here are the pictures:

This is a wide view. The house is on the peninsula you see in the distance.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Looks like EC has a good sized spread going on there. Crossroads Centre is a real nice property but only viewed on the website as we didn't spend any time out there during our port stop.

We loved Antigua and would consider staying on island in the future. Sounds like we did some of the same sites as you and your family. Nelson's Dockyard was interesting. We were there in January '07 and the dockyard and the "yacht harbor" were pretty packed then! Locals were pretty friendly which was a plus and the island was easy enough to navigate around!

Thanks,
Kathy

I did not realize it until just now, Eric Clapton founded the Crossroads Centre. Here is a link to their website:
