Two couples, five kids - rental suggestions?

Post by PA Girl »

I know this topic has come up over and over again but I can't narrow my forum search enough to find the post I am looking for.

My cousins are looking for a villa that will accomodate two families of four adults and five children - nine people total. I don't know exact age of the kids but I think the youngest may be 5 or 6 years old.

They would like a pool and interior bedroom access.

Cousin #1 has stayed at Concordia and is somewhat familar with the island. At this point, they don't have a strong preference on location. I would guess easy access would be desirable.

Le Lappin sticks out in my mind. What are some of the other large, family friendly houses?

Ristaba and Leeward both have a pool and have interior bedrooms and will accommodate 9.

I kept searching for Ristaba but couldn't find it as I had Hakuna Matata on the brain.

NancyB - did your friends like Skyway?

Le Lapin II can be found on Caribbean Villa's website. (It has 4 bedrooms and looks like it holds 8.)

Starlit Escape is an affordable 4 bedrooms plus loft with a small pool. (3 bedrooms plus loft are interior; 4th bedroom is downstairs.) We stayed there if you want to know more about it.

In The Stars has a nice pool and 5 bedrooms (but 2 are downstairs) and Casa Luna has similar.

Villa Tessori looks beautiful and says "The master suite and four guest suites are in the main house, making this an ideal home for families with small children." You can find it on Island Getaways.

PAGirl, yes, they really liked Skyway. It was a beautiful villa with amazing views.

We are staying at Tesori with 3 couples, a sitter and a one and 6 year old on May 17th. It is gorgeous (we popped by to see it when we were there in February). I'll let you know more in late May.

Our friends have stayed at Leeward and it's a great villa too. Pool is on the small side but otherwise, it's great.

Sol Inclination. http://www.islandgetawaysinc.com/sol_inclination.html

The main house has 2 bedrooms, one fold-out couch in the 1st floor den, and a box that converts to a twin in the upstairs media room, 2 1/2 baths, and a large modern kitchen. The lower house has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths.

Email Kathy.

It really depends on how you're going to bunk the kids. We've been happy with Le Lapin II, Dolphin Run, Jazz Villa and Cocotier (no interior staircase) with kids.

Islands End has been enjoyed by many families I have met at my studio. 5 bedrooms on 2 levels, a pool, and a gas grill and refrig on the pool level in addition to the main kitchen. On the East End there are several miles of lightly traveled roads for hiking, as well as 3 or 4 good snorkel spots.

Don't know what the "interior stairs" situation is at this villa, but it's 2 pods connected by a pool so might be a nice layout for 2 families.

Currently called St. John House, formerly Wild Jasmine North and South I think.

Thanks so much for all the ideas, I am going to email the link.

I spent the afternoon on the back porch, it is HOT, sunny and about 80+ degrees today. I may STJ dreaming right now.
