Attention Home Brewers- Help, please! :)

I know we have some real experts around here! In short: where is the best place to get a beginner's home brew kit?

I want to give one as a birthday gift and I'm not sure where to go. There are a lot of sites when you google but, of course, I'm not sure which to choose from there.

I thought about putting one together but they live many states away so it'd be much easier just to have one delivered.
