We Did It! Calypso del Sol

Post by Greenskeeper »

We contacted the villa owners and are booking for Feb 09. We just got the contract in the mail this morning! From my first correspondence with the owners, I was comfortable that we made the right choice to rent from them.

Thanks to everyone here who aided in our villa search.

You will enjoy your time there. There is one major drawback, tho.......it's gonna kill you waitng til next Feb to go!!

Oh well, anticipation is half the fun of going!

Congrats on nailing the villa you want!

I've always liked that villa. It's been on my short list for a long time! Enjoy. I booked at 12 months out and now I'm just 9 weeks away! Woo-hoo!!!

The wait will be tough but I'm glad I'm not alone in it. Sounds like many people book far ahead. Calypso was our first choice and then we started second guessing. I'm glad we booked. The week after us was already taken!

I agree the anticipation is part of the fun. I'm not a person who "overplans" but I do like to go to a new destination armed with some knowledge. I've already learned so much from these boards- I should be well informed by the time we depart.

Greenskeeper, we have some reasons this time for booking so far out and this place fit the bill for us so we did it. Right now I have other things to deal with and won't be anticipating this trip too much for a while. But I'm sure come around oh Decemeber or so I will be failry dreadful to be around ;)
I hope you come back with a favorable report for me :)

You will love Calypso del Sol! Wish we could get her, again, for our 2009 trip, but we will be by ourself with no one to share the rent in 2009, so we are looking for a little less rent.

I have not stayed there, but while taking a morning walk, I passed it and could not help but knock on the door. The nice folks staying there let me take a look around. You will be very happy with your choice. It is just like the photos, and it has a really easy kind of circular driveway right in front of the house. You just pull in and drive straight out the other side. Plenty of room for more than one car, too.

Glad to hear the nice reports from those who have stayed or toured the villa. The owners sent a calendar with a photo of the villa on it. It makes me smile. I also have to admit I'm relieved that our school vacation trip is booked and I don't have to plan much more for another 10 months.
