Were coming back!
Were coming back!
I have tried to find a new destination just to change it up but nothing compares. I was leaning toward Virgin Gorda and Anguilla or Antigua. We loved St. John so why not go twice??
I (we are) am looking at:
PERELANDRA
VIEWTIFUL
PINK CONCH
And others but these are my top two that I have heard back from.
Perelandra is for sale--is that a problem? Also, they don't have a hot tub. Can anyone tell me if the pool is warm in December?? It gets great reviews; and from the reviews it appears to get a lot of sun (maybe that will be enough to keep the pool warm??)
Also, Viewtiful is managed by Private Homes for Private Vacations and we used them for Altamira in November. We loved Altamira but didn't like having the boys in a seperate pod. I appreciated all of the provisions Private Homes had for us and that we were able to call them while we were there. Actually, I haven't heard back from them so maybe they didn't like us. HAHA
Pink Conch also doesn't have a hot tub but the villa is amazing. It is just out of our price range--but worth it, I think.
We can't afford the places that would be "perfect" especially during Christmas break.
Any more suggestions??
We did a lot of activities last time but I already have a list of new and repeats that will keep us busy. I am really thinking it is time for us to get scuba certified.

Gina,
You didn't say how many bedrooms you want but I'm assuming 2 because I think that's what the villas you list are.
We had the same issue with prices over the holidays. I like the looks of Fun and Contentment. The 2 bedrooms are off of the great room; no going outside to get from one to the other, which is nice for families. I also like that it's in Coral Bay; Cruz Bay was crowded when we were there over Christmas Break.
Another on my list is Rhumb Runner; both bedrooms are on the same level. However I don't think it has a hot tub.
Pink Conch looks nice!

WOW! I love Fun and Contentment. I have emailed them--they are the same company I was talking to about Pink Conch. If it is going to be busy in Cruz Bay I know my family will be happier on the Coral side. Expect that we do love to stay active (as I give Iowa guy and nod).
Thank you for the suggestion and the insight to Cruz Bay over Christmas. We never did mind the drive. How far would it be to go from Fun and Contentment to say, Waterlemon, or Trunk Beach??
TIA
Gina

Hi Gina,
We went to Waterlemon and Trunk from Coral Bay and although I can't remember how long the drive was, nothing seemed far to me. (Ask CV, they might be able to give you some approximate times.) And you'll be closer to a few places too, like Salt Pond, Vie's, Little Lameshur...
As far as being active, we rented kayaks from Crabby's in Coral Bay, and did some hikes like the one to Ram Head and the Johnny Horn trail; we never felt limited by being in Coral Bay. The one thing we did have to go to 'town' for was to catch the boat when we did a private snorkel. We had to make up our own parking spot somewhere but never got a ticket. Also, Crabby's no longer rents dinghies so I think we would have had to go to Cruz Bay to do that.
It sounds like you have some nice villa options!

Looked at my list again...
This one looks nice: Waterlemon Villa http://www.vrbo.com/115306
2 masters on the lower level; one room on the main level with twins or king. Pool.
This one is walking distance to Kiddle Bay; has a pool and hot tub; Loft room for kids off the main living area, master bedroom lower level. http://www.windspree.com/homes/lilleparadis/ Jofus recently stayed at La Sirena which is very close to this; you can look for her trip report and videos.
Caneel Trailside Cottage: 2 master bedrooms off the great room. www.caneeltrailside.com I think someone recently did a trip report after staying there and loved it.

we stayed at perelandra last week and it's a great villa...awesome view, the pool was refreshing after a day out and about...it has basically 2 master suites up and down and a kitchen living area...it's close to the sirenusa project but it wasn't real noisey...opinion, we're already booking for next march and it will be in coral bay because it's more of what we want in a vacation...less.
