Help ! Best flights from NC and West Palm to ST John
I am hoping everyone here can give me some help with this situation.
We are heading to SJ the middle of May and staying at Villa Carolina. Last night my husband decided that we should invite my sister and my cousin, both single to join us. We all grew up together including my husband (we are high school sweethearts) and don't really get to see each other often so he thought this would be a fantastic idea.
Here is the problem. We fly direct out of JFK so I really have little experience with flights from other areas of the country into SJ. I know from the board that their are a lot of people from Carolina and Florida that go to SJ.
My counsin would go out of Charlotte NC and my sister who lives in Sebastian Florida would be able to go out of West Palm or Ft Lauderdale.
Would appreciate help with best flights and prices as we will probably have to help them with $$$$$$$.
Thanks in advance guys.

CLT, I believe has a direct on US Air.
As for West Palm, there's not much from there that won't involve a trip elsewhere, but if they drive to FLL, Spirit goes from there. Just don't try to make that drive in rush hour. I did it 2 weeks ago. Grrr...traffic
I don't know about costs (I'm trapped up here in Raleigh but also fly using Delta FF Miles), but at least they're both direct flights.

Thanks Rick,
Just did a search and I came up with the same flights. My sister who is in Vero Beach Fl is clostrophobic so one flight is sufficient for her and need I add lots of Zanax!
Thanks for the quick reply.
Oh, quick question. As we always take the Red Hook ferry over, if they are comming in at say around 3:30, could they make the other ferry?, and where does that come in on St John.

All ferries to STJ land at the same dock in Cruz Bay. Car barges land at Enighed Pond.
You need to check the ferry times for your travel dates. I prefer the CA ferry. Honestly, the best thing to do is to talk to the airport cab dispatcher and ask him, he'll know the ferry schedule. It works great, as long as you start with "Good Day, do you know..."
Cheers, RickG

That reminds me of our trips to St Barts( off season) and we would start our conversations off when we entered the stores with "Bonjour". They would then start to talk a mile a minute in French thinking we spoke the language. One look at my face as she was talking in a language I did not understand and she quickly switched to english.
Being pleasant certainly doesn't hurt. I really try to destroy the image of "The Ugly Americans" whenever we travel. I have seen too many of them in our travels.

FLL has direct flights to STT, but MIA does as well.
Ft. Lauderdale airport is certainly easier to get to, and to navigate, than Miami, but Miami isn't that much further away from your sister (we live just a little north of them) and often has more attractive travel times as well as more airlines to choose from.
We ended up taking a non-stop from MIA to STT on American last year - it left at 12:30 or so, and arrived shortly after 3:00.
