Restaurants with teenagers
We are a family of four vacationing this June on STJ -this will be the second trip w/ two teenagers (actually 16 and 20). I want to try some restaurants that we have not in the past - ZoZo's, La Tapa, and Rhumblines are on my list. I have looked at the menus on line and I am not sure the kids will enjoy the food at these restaurants - what do you think? Has anyone taken their teenagers to these restaurants and if so what did they enjoy? Thanks,
ZoZo's is pretty high end but will definitely have more of a selection for finicky teenagers. If you want to go to a nice place...Store Terrace would also be a good option,
For less expansive alternatives, Rhumblines or the Lime Inn would probably fit the bill.

La Tapa will make things off the menu for the kids if they don't like what is on offer--plain pasta, for instance.
The food at Rhumblines is pretty spicy, so if they don't like spicy maybe you'd want to pick another place?
Both Zozo's and La Tapa will have fresh grilled fish choices, and you could probably get them without their sauces (or sauces on the side). There's a steak on Zozo's menu also, and lobster. You can get surf and turf there too (but it's pretty expensive!).

I was thinking more along the lines of what havoc two teens alone with booze in a million dollar home could wreck, but maybe I was just thinking about my teens

At 16 and 20 I'll bet they can figure out how to check out the menus and decide for themselves. They're plenty old enough to be eating "big people food"...of course the young uns don't always like to run with the geezers.
If that's the case, just buy an extra loaf of bread and package of bologna for them...and lock up the booze! Get yourself a good bottle of wine with the savings.

I think La Tapa and Paradiso were doing better on our last visit with better service. Both have comfortable standards with very interesting stretch dishes.
The brown sauce I had at Paradiso with a lamb shank had some fruit puree added that added a nice acidic kick without being cloying (I do NOT have a sweet tooth). Paradiso also has pasta, beef and chicken standards. This was a step up from previous visits.
