Day 5 the wonton story
We all tried to sleep in this morning. We had some breakfast and I walked around the property and tried to take it all in. What a gorgeous day it was. The temp was just right and the sky was just beautiful! The landscaping is just over the top. I watched the bananaquits and hummingbirds until Don poked his head out from their room. Mike and Lynn were still sleeping in so Don and I talked about what a fabulous day we had on our boat trip. We enjoyed every minute of it. I liked not being with a larger group like we had with New Horizons !!. We had a great time on those trips but this one was great. I iceed my ankle which was swollen and black and blue from the incident at Woody's. Spent some time in the hottub in my special spotwith a ll of the back jets!
We were going to hang out at the villa for a while and then go in to town to eat at Ocean Grill and shop at Mongoose Junction. I had been wanting to fit this restaurant in and it did not disappoint. I reviewed this in the restaurant section on the forum. Walked around and shopped after lunch. Our friends were interested in hook bracelets so they worked on that for a while. The guys had an appointment with a real estate guy so we stopped by the store to stock up on wine and tonic for our dinner party. The guys dropped us off at Bongo Bongo. We decided to float in the pool for a couple hours until the massage therapist we hired arrived around 4:45. We hired Lise Danforth- www.mermaidmassage.com She was on time and set everything up in the red bedroom. Can you say pampered!!!!!Lynn andI both enjoyed our massages. It was $100 dollars to get this relaxed in paradise. The funny thing is that we needed the massages at the end of the night not the beginning- if we had only known what was about to happen. I had my massage from 5-6 and Lynn had her's from 6:15-7:15. While she was finishing up, the chef we had hired,Kent,arrived to prepare our feast. We were to eat around 8pm. Here's the menu:
Crispy seafood wontons
Katilady spinich salad
Roasted garlic madhed potatoes
Asparagus w/lemon zest
Jerk Pork Tenderloin
Classic Chocolate Eclair with todie for chocolate sauce.
Kent was very cool calm and collected. He had cooked all over the world and was very interesting. THIS WAS NOT HIS FIRST TIME AROUND A KITCHEN! THIS IS WHAT MADE THE WHOLE THING SO SCARY!
He came in and started preparing a flower arrangement for the dining room table. We had all of the tiki torches lit and the water fall going. He lit candles all around and asked us where we would like to have our drinks and appetizers. We chose the table and chairs on the ledge down by the pool.He came back down in a few minutes and refreshed our drinks. I was having Pinot Grigio and the others were in to Vodka Tonics. We had our IPOD playing Fleetwood Macs Greatest Hits and we were all SO RELAXED for about 15 min.Then we hear......BOOM! I thought he dropped a big metal pan that he had the tenderloin marinating in on the stained concret floor. Remember my ankle? Well, I had it propped up and decided to stay put. We couldn't see in the kitchen from where we were sitting but we thought everything was alright. Lynn decided to go snoop around up there and see what happened and fix a drink since Kent was getting lazy on his job.
She returns in about 10-15 min with the look of horror on her face. She says, "Tammy,whatever you do , DO NOT GO UP THERE!" She preseeds to tell us what Kent told her. He was trying to cook the wontons and get the oil hot. The wontons had been frozen and were not all the way thawed??? Evidently. the oil flared up and Kent thought it was a small grease fire. He said he was about to throw flour on it and then it settled down he turned around and was facing the sink away from the stove when the oil just spewed and blew up I guess. There was oil on the ceiling, on the fans, on the floor(kitchen and den), on the glass cabinets, the granite countertops, the sofa, the chair, the everything. Kent had put down papertowels to make a walk way to and through the kitchen. to be continued...........

Oh......can't wait to hear the rest of your saga you just have a way with words
And onto another topic - please tell me you didn't buy a house on STJ as I know I wasn't your realtor
Oh well - next time - just let me know if you have any questions, but I'm sure you were well taken care of as we're all pretty good people (well most of us anyway
)
Can't wait to hear more from you - I'm in England right now and you are all my link to home - but I will be home on Wednesday - back to warm weather after going to sleep every night with a hot water bottle !!!!!
Luv you all
Pia
