Can I make an 8:50 Flight from STT?

If we take the 6:00 ferry from Cruz Bay to Red Hook, do you think we can make an 8:50 flight out of STT on a Sunday morning, or should I play it safe and spend Saturday night in STT? The flight had been at 9:15, and I thought we could make it, but now its changed to 8:50, and I'm curious whether other people think I'm nuts. We have free airline tickets and nothing is available later.

I would think you'd make it no problem. That still gives you 2 hours at the airport.

We came home last Monday afternoon and things were moving steady at the airport.

Have done it many times, you will have no problem - that time of day the airport is (usually) deserted as there are no large planes leaving only the small ones to SJU and I usually get checked in and trough Customs/Immigration in under 10 mins
