Disoriented Coral Bay Lover

Post by lbrlwyr »

After several years of renting in Coral Bay, it appears that my group wants to try something new and rent a very nice property -- Acqua Blu -- on Boatman's Point (by Klein/Monte Bay) on the south shore. I am not normally one to rock the boat, but I am a little concerned about losing the peace and laid back atmosphere that I love about CB.

However, since we have only stayed in Coral Bay, I thought I would keep an open mind and see what the other forum-goers had to say about this area. How is the area? Is it less "congested" (i use that word very loosely) than say Great CB or Choc Hole? How long is the drive up to the North Shore beaches? (would I want to take Gift hill road?). More importantly....am I making a big mistake?!?!

Sincerely,

A very concerned Coral Bay Lover

I think I know how you feel. We are looking at villas in Coral Bay for a trip this Spring. Last night my husband suggested staying at Caneel Bay for the 7 or 8 nights we'll be on St. John....he knows that I LOVE Caneel. And as tempting as his suggetion sounds...I think I am going to stick with staying in Coral Bay, because I LOVE Coral Bay too. Decisions! Decisions!

Thanks. I think I need to expand my horizons a little and try someplace new. I am excited about staying at Acqua Blu which is a brand new property and looks fantastic: http://islandgetawaysinc.com/acquablu.html

I can always stay in CB next year....

Wow, that's a really nice house! I'd love to stay there.

I have not stayed on Klein Bay, but we usually get over there for snorkeling. It's always very quiet, and we usually have the beach to ourselves. I think you will like it. The sound of the water going over the pebble beach is very peaceful.

Thats a really gorgeous house. We've certainly enjoyed staying on Klein Bay. I wondered whether Acqua Blu can be seen from another angle in Martini Girl's recent photo, just above Villa Mistral.

We stayed at Monte Bay over Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. Its our favorite house (so far) and found the area to be quiet and really relaxing. We found ourselves spending more time in Coral Bay than Cruz Bay, but Klein Bay was awesome.

Kathy is great to work with. Her portfolio is excellent. Warning - you will be spoiled.

we could see both of those homes from ours which was to your right looking at the water...(we were also in awe of the one with the blue roof) anyway, we were on Iguana Hill between Hart Bay and Chocolate Hole and it was very quiet......lots of partially built homes below us, but only one actually being worked on....so, I think you'll be fine and the villa looks fab!
