day 4 powerboat day

Post by wontongirl »

November 14,2006-We were all so excited and couldn't wait for this day. We got up early and had some juice and yummy bread from Deli Grotto. It was cloudy out and didn't look like it was going to be a good day for a powerboat trip! We were going out with Capt. Jordon with Caribbean vibe and first mate Shanna. www.caribbeanvibe.com We called to make sure we were still on for the day. All systems go, so we loaded up the Jeep liberty and off we went to the US customs dock. They were there waiting for us. Lynn and I sat in the front and immediately it started to rain. Jordon assured us we would be out of the rain soon. We bounced around some and got wet but just as he said we were met with a beautiful day. Shanna checked us in to customs in Tortola andthen we were off to Norman Island?? caves to snorkel. This was the best snorkel stop we have had on any of our trips. We have done New Horizons II two times in the past, Scubadu, Rumbaba, Survivin', and Dancing Dolphin. This was our best day on the water!! We went by the Indians also. Then we headed over to Smugglers Cove to meet Stephen a bartender that runs electricity from his jeep to his little shack to run his blender. The water was beautiful! The was a really neat little spot to stop. We had a few rum punch drinks and then we were off to Jost. We hung out of Soggy Dollar for a while and ate lunch. We had fish sandwiches, burgers and chicken roti. Everything was yummy! Then we walked down to First Love- Foxy's son's place. I believe his name was Sedy. He kept us entertained with magic tricks. They are awesome- DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! We were the only ones there so we climbed up to the bar and he amazed us over and over. He also had the coldest beer I have ever had and that was a very good thing because it was hot!!!! We cruised around to some other places and then over to sandy spit. We had our pictures taken by the corona palm trees of course! We jsut had such a wonderful time. At the beginning of the trip, I told Shanna (first mate) a story Capt. Joe on Scubadu had told me. He said he took this lady out on his cat one day and he asked her what she wanted to do. She then preceeded to pull out all of these little bottles from her bag. She told him that he was to drive her around all day to places with different colors of water and she wanted to collect the water in these little bottles so she could see all of the different colors!!!! Of course this became our joke of the day!!!! Everytime we would see a different color of water, we would ask Shanna what color it was. She would make up crazy names like Sapphire AquaVelva #6. this went on all day. I guess you just had to be there but we had fun with it! The names got crazier as the cooler got lighter! We had a wonderful day and everyone really enjoyed every minute with Jordon. They were both very sweet kids! We will be going back out with him in November. We got back to customs about 4:30 and headed over to Woody's. It was crazy!!! Not really my cup of tea but we enjoyed our food. The bad part was that I was standing at the bar with both hands full and a girl with a huge backpack walked by me and turned and somehow mananged to knock me down. The backpack I guess. I didn't spill those drinks-I don't know how I managed that- I really hurt my ankle! It was twisted and I am still having trouble with it a month later. We had conch fritters, shrimp, crab and corn fritters, fried scallops and I can't remember what else. The food was fine just too crowded and crazy for me! This was an early-to-bed night because we were exhausted from having so much fun! You should all think about going out with Jordon for a day.
Coming soon-Day 5( lunch at Ocean Grill, shopping, real estate, massages, Kent from Katilady comes to prepare dinner..AKA -the wonton story!
