Some pictures and notes from our January trip
Thanks, guys. To answer a few questions, yes, the Catherineberg house was Cinnamon Stones.
Rick--he stayed at some new place called Perfect Pineapple. Small rooms on the hillside.
Kygirl--they *do* grow up so fast. Bittersweet, but I must say, the first year our daughter went to college, we went to STJ for 2 weeks and stayed almost 6. It was great! We'd had her right away when we married young, and it was fantastic to finally have time to just enjoy ourselves, with no schedule..
Janet---Didn't you hear me scream?! That iguana scared the life out of me. Also, our friend Ron once had one fall on his head and knock him out, so even though it seems funny to have an iguana fall out of a tree, I was grateful I missed the trip to Myra Keating.
Deejayy, I'll PM you about the cottage.
Diana and CypressGirl, did not miss the hot tub and pool. Used the pool at Cinnamon Stones once for half a dip, and didn't use the tub at either C Stones or Honeymoon Cottage. But that's just me (us). I loved the Francis Bay location. A quick drive down the North Shore road to Cruz Bay, no more than 25 minutes. Easy access to Coral Bay. I LOVE the Catherineberg view more than any other, but it's a long drive to the beach. And I got really tired of that Centerline Road drive to town.. It's WONDERFUL to be seconds from the beach. Loved that... Still, we've stayed pretty much all over the island now, and there's something to be said for all the locations.
And for all those that plan to try Sweet Plantains, I hope you enjoy it. It's really been doing well, so make sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to eat inside, where it's so romantic and beautiful and breezy. I love that place!

Cheers, RickG
Yep, Greg still runs/owns? things. We always use Greg's taxi from Great Harbor to White Bay when we go by ferry. He has to have one of the "slickest" vehicles on Jost. AC and dashboard CD/DVD player. We were going to check out one of his cottages, but never got around to it as White Bay Fever overtook us and soon it was time to catch the fery back to STJ.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Fabulous, Maryanne, thanks.
I'm sure everyone will laugh to hear that two days after the iguana fell on Ron's head, a coconut fell from a tree on the Beach Road and missed his head by two inches. The other funny part was that the Iguana Incident happened as he was going out the door at Connections and within half an hour people in Coral Bay had heard about it.
