I definitely agree! We were actually trying to rent it for our next trip but our dates were off by one day. Oh well, maybe next time.

I don't think there are many North Shore villas with the "classic NS view" to choose from....(unless you include Peter Bay)...

Well, a big reason we were considering it was because several people here said that the pools on the North Shore stay so cold that you can't use them anyhow. In that case, I'm guessing a hot tub would be much better.

Florida people and the infirm should avoid pools below 80 degrees. Okay, Blacksburg people too.

Below 80 degrees they aren't a pool - they're therapy tubs!

See, I come from the opposite side. I recently rented a house in Florida with a heated pool and I could not even get into it! Pools should be refreshing and cool, but this one was like getting into a hot tub! Even my niece and nephew kept getting out of the pool, using the outdoor shower to cool off, and then jumping back in.

The literature that came with the house said that the pool could be heated to 80, 90, 95, or 100 degrees depending on how much you wanted to pay. That's TOOOOO hot!

I'll take a nice cool, even cold, pool any day.

I used to go to the resort where my brother works to swim in their indooor pool when they weren't busy. There were days that it was warmer than when I take a hot bath to rest my aching bones. That's gross, and the last thing you want to think about is working out.

However, when I took water aerobics at the high school they kept the pool under 80 degrees because they said it made the kids swim faster. Needless to say, I did get a good work out but not exactly the temperature I want when I'm just chilling on a pool noodle with a little rum punch.

My preference is in the 78-84 range.

Much warmer than that and it's not very refreshing.

Much cooler than that and I can't stay in it and be comfortable for very long.

Of course if the sun is shining you can always float on something on top of the water, and take a dunk periodically to cool you off.
