Johnny Horn Trail?

Post by sherban »

I found this photo on the web and am wondering where this was taken from, anyone been here?

Just wondering if anyone has been up there and or taken photos from there? Any comments or tips on this trail or the boys home or whatever?
Thanks Ya'll (and I promise to post pics after early July '08

That is a great picture! We did that hike about a week ago. That part of my trip report is next... I'll post something tomorrow.

I'd love to know where that picture was taken, or if they had to climb a tree to take it. Most of the trail does not have gorgeous views, or really any views at all. The only place we had great views was from the Windy Hill spur trail and from on top of the Windy Hill ruins. That spur trail is very overgrown with thorny plants! We didn't get good views again until we came back down on the Coral Bay side. The Windy Hill ruins are pretty big, so maybe the photographer was able to get this great shot from there.

Bumping this back up to see if I can find someone who has been to a spot where this picture could have been taken from, ...anyone? Is it Johnny Horn?

That's from the fort overlooking Waterlemon Cay. There's a spur on the left as you head up towards the Johnny Horn Trail from Leinster Bay.

Thanks Rick, I'll be looking for it in June...might be a good one to plan without the ladies...not that the wife is a wuss...just might be an adventure best for me...climbing, thorns, bugs, heat...why would I do this again...to earn myself a cool swin at the bottom of the hill...it's just an adventure...

Cypressgirl- I am the guy...my wonderful (and sometimes wicked) wife wonders what the hell I am doing on this forum all the time, she suspects it is some sexual chat room or something...what-ever! Boy will she be impressed when we show up on Island and I know the place like I've been there 5 times (thanks to ya'll)...maybe she'll be "real sweet" to me when I impress her with my knowlege and planning skills....or...maybe I just get her drunk and her beer goggles make her attracted to me...rambling now...Ciao-
