V.I.B.E. Charter Review
V.I.B.E. Charter Review
We are a group of 6 adults, all of which are experienced boaters on small boats from 21 to 42 feet. After having rented a bareboat charter from Nauti Nymph the past two trips to St. John, this year we decided to go with a small crewed charter for several reasons:
(1) Wanted to go to The Baths, and wanted a faster, better boat
(2) I was tired of being the captain and worrying about the boat and my passengers
(3) We were totally against going on a boat with a large group
...and last but not least:
(4) I was ready to have more than ONE painkiller on Jost in the afternoon!!
Therefore, we did a little research, and chose Virgin Island Boat Excursions (www.caribbean-vibe.com).
Our trip included a visit to The Bath's first, then a stop at Cooper Island resort for lunch, then a snorkel nearby the resort. Then we stopped at Jost for a while for drinks, and then a brief snorkel stop on the way back to Cruz Bay.
Captains Sam and Brent were great hosts onboard the boat. They were humorous, professional, knowledgeable, and accomodating. The boat was impeccably clean and very new. The ride was smooth and comfortable. The stop for customs in Tortola was smooth and quick.
The Baths went great, and Capt Sam got the boat VERY close to shore, which helped a few of us who were hungover from the previous night swim to shore against a somewhat strong current. Capt Brent was a great guide on shore as well.
Although they were not as familiar with Cooper Island, we chose to stop there anyway due to the proximity of a good lunch spot near a good snorkel spot. We started our snorkel in the wrong spot though, and just as the coral & fish got good, it was time to leave...oh well! But now they know, and I'm sure future passengers on board will be delighted with their knowledge of this spot now!
Jost was great, as always, and Capt Sam & Brent were awesome helping those of us who had quite a few drinks get our souveniers on board.
We stopped on the way back to Cruz Bay at a secret snorkel spot that Capt Sam likes to frequent, and it was great!
I highly recommend a trip with Caribbean V.I.B.E., and would love to answer any questions.
If you want a professional, small boat trip, without any other passengers other than your group, these guys are FIRST rate, and tons of fun. We didn't meet a nicer couple of guys our entire trip!

We too had the absolute pleasure of spending a day with V.I.B.E charters. Captain Sam and First Mate Brent were top notch. We did the Caves and Indians, Smuggler's Cove, White Bay and a few other short snorkel stops. Loved every minute of it. Matter of fact, it was the highlight of our trip. It was my hubby and I plus my two teen daughters. They all LOVED it. Highly recommend V.I.B.E.
