Roosters and others on Gifft Hill

Post by snorkelqueen »

Now you guys have me worried. We decided after 6 years at the same house in Great Cruz Bay to try somethig new and are staying at C9 on Gifft Hill next year. I love the outdoors and "critters" but I'm also a VERY LIGHT SLEEPER. Several years ago the roosters and frogs on Virgin Gorda almost ruined our trip because I was so sleep deprived. Will ear plugs be enough or should we re-think the Gifft Hill experience??? :(

do you use AC at all while you are there? that should be enough to drown it out.

mbw - you are a riot! I smile when I read your reports and your reply to me just seems so simple and funny too. I can just hear us ......"come on honey crank up the a/c and drown out the stupid roosters!!" What am I thinking??? We are talking paradise here....what's a little "crowing" in the scheme of things? Thanks again for your reply and great reports....

Ha. I wasn't trying to be funny really but we did use the AC at night and really I didn't hear a thing. It was pretty cool at night and probably could have done without AC but I've been having some wicked allergy/asthma problems this season so we put it on for me at night.
Other than one morning I didn't hear a thing and I think I only heard it that day because Charlie was shuffling around

We stayed one driveway down from Cloud 9 and saw roosters but didn't hear them. Cat may tell ya' differently, but I don't remember hearing them.

There was construction at Skyway right outside our window but that didn't bother us either...kinda felt like home :)

Hey Snorkel Queen!
No worries mon! We slept like babies at C9! No roosters or tree frogs that we could hear!
You will do just fine with the A/C & fan blowin'
(I would worry more about driving up, up, up to the house for the first time! Woo-Hoo!)

You are not staying long enough if you think the tree frogs and roosters will be keeping you awake. Stay long enough and you don't even notice them. Shouldn't take more than a few weeks. :)

BTW, I live on Gift Hill.
