I did I did and I was totally confused. Now it all makes a little more sense, but I kept saying I swear the cruise ships don't usually do that.

I read it, [and the murder in Cruz Bay], and wondered about where all these people are going to pee when they get to Cruz Bay?

When we were out sailing last Wenesday there was a clipper ship, (windjammer) anchored out side of Cruz Bay as well. Looks like more tourists soon come.

There were a ton of the cruisers in Mongoose Junction the afternoon we were there shopping. I was surprised. I didn't know if I had just never been there before when the daytrippers were in or if they had made it easier for them to get over. Now I know.

This might be a silly question, but where does the ship dock? Can it fit into the harbor and tie up to one of the docks or does it sit outside and tender people in?

Good question about where does everyone pee?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the "mystery dinghies" that on-st.john reported last month? [Nov.10th]

It definitely did not dock. It just was out in the harbor. I tendered everyone in. I didn't pay close enough attention to see if it were via the mystery dinghies!

They were tendering people in, using (I belive) their own tenders as they were quite nice and quite large and picking up/dropping off at the National Park Dock.

Every year we have the Windstar Cruise Line that anchors in Cruz Bay as well as one other line but I can't recall the name - looks like season is here :) or :( depending on the way you look at it :)

I've seen SeaDream anchored off Cruz Bay. Now this type of cruise I just might consider...

a question

Post by XOXO »

What is it like at the beaches, on the trails, traffic, in Cruz Bay when there is a cruise ship docked at St. John?

We were there last week and it wasn't crowded at all. We loved it!!

What is it like for the people vacationing there now?

That ships capacity is 700 so if they split up some it shouldn't be to bad

There was no noticeable difference in traffic or at the beaches on Monday. We were on Little Lamshur that day and I doubt that many from the ship get to there. The parking lot at Salt Pond looked full though.

We saw that ship and it was packed at Mongoose Junction. There were people wandering around with number tags on their shirts, so I figured that they must be from the ship. We were at the Cruz Bay overlook taking a picture when a taxi pulled over. As I passed by I heard a woman point to St Thomas and say "that's St John over there". I considered keeping my mouth shut (not easy), but I couldn't. I told her she was on St John. The taxi driver was amused.
