I am utterly useless

Post by melmd »

I am totaly and utterly useless

With only 3, yes 3 days to go I have no ambition to work at all. I have spent most of today researching stores I'd like to check out and reading trip reports (which are wonderful). Is this how my next 2 days are going to be????

On a side note, where's the best place to buy hook braclets? I am giving them as x-mas gifts if I can get them in the price range I am looking to spend. How much do silver hook braclets braclets go for (looking for plain, nothing fancy)?

Thanks

I'm 3 days back and still useless as you can see from my trip reports! ENOY!

I bought my hook at Palm Jewlers but don't recall the price to tell you the truth. It was last year.

Back just shy of 2 weeks and am still utterly useless! Don't count on being in the Christmas spirit on your return either! The snow is really confusing me!

Check them out http://stjohnjewelers.com/

Have a great trip,

Judging from how I was before our trip, I'd say that you are utterly...normal!

And if you're not, at least you're not alone!

I recommend you look around and do some comparison shopping before you buy anything.

Prices can vary widely...a bracelet I bought this summer was $20 at one place and a very similar one was $60 at another...same with rings...I bought one for $15 but others had it for $30.

My two favorite jewelry stores are Caravan Gallery (which is linked above) and the name of the other place escapes me even though I've been there 100 times...it is across from the church with the "Thou Shalt Not Park Here" sign. The card they put in the little baggy with your jewelry has dolphins on it and they sell a lot of Larimar and Conch Shell jewelry...they also probably have the widest variety of hook bracelets in STJ. Someone here will know what I'm talking about...

Caravan Gallery can be on the pricey side, but they also have some unique stuff that you won't find anywhere else.

Happy searching :)

Mine is from Caravan Gallery. It was $70 and I love it.

I think the Teresa_Rae is referring to Freebird. Another great jewelry store.

Have an amazing trip!

I got my bracelet (the "J" hook) at Freebird and I think it was around $70ish, but as I recall, they had all price ranges. I wear mine all day, everday. As for the useless part, yes, I can relate. (I think it's some sort of pre-trip/post-trip syndrome that we all seem to get.) We leave on Friday to STT for a sailing trip and that's pretty much all I can think about. Fortunately, things are slow at work right now. Safe travels and good luck with finding those bracelets. Ali~

Thanks Nancy_B, that's it: Freebird :)

Ruth reminded me of the name in another topic.

I love that store...they often have the best prices in my experience.
