That was me too!onthelake wrote:Hi everyone,
Just thought I would give you some hope ... I had the wear only black, won't tell you anything 16 yr old with the 20 yr old boyfriend ....

It will get better, everyone, I promise! Hang in there, all you parents. I admire you.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I love this thread! We have a 10 year old little man whom is our little sweetheart, and a 19 year old (20 in Feb) girl woman.
We have two rules. She can't sleep over at her tattooed boy banders, and she can't traipse across the US with him either. She thinks she has it bad! The girl has been given the freaking MOON! I talked her out of a tattoo at the last possible second. I had to resort to emotional begging!
Despite all this (and so much more), she is an angel and I adore her!
Flip and all you others with youngins still to achieve teenagerhood, keep that adorable photo branded and fresh at the top of your memory. You will need it for strength one day when you want to strangle one of the little angels!

I can't even fathom either of my kids giving us big troubles. They have great dispositions. My 5 year old "got" St. John at 3. She is a very unique girl. I think the boy is just glad he made it here & he doesn't seem to sweat the small stuff.
I can be a bit of a hard nose but my hubby and I say the more you put in up front the better they'll turn out in the long run. I definitely agree with whoever said set your standards high.
