number of people per villa ??

Post by sillymom »

There will be 7 of us going to St John this summer. When looking at villa rates it is by the number of people per villa for rates. It will be 4 adults and 3 children going. Can we get a 3 bedroom or do we have to get 4 ? Rates are saying 4-6 people for a 3 bedroom. My 3 kids will share a room. Are the villas strict about number of people per bedroom? Thanks so much for any info.

sm,

my only experiences are cloud 9villas and they charged $25 per nite per additional person over 2/4/6 rates and destination st john and they indicated no charge for children under a certain age but many of their villas don't allow children from like 2 to 8. probably each agency and or villa has own rules and you'll find prompt and courteous responses from the reputable agencies.

I think it depends on the agency and/or the ages of the kids. We are renting 4 br for 4 adults and 5 kids, the youngest would be 4. I have spoken with some agencies who were going to charge an extra $50/night for the 4-yr old to sleep in the parents' king bed which I disagreed with and therfore did not use those agencies. I'd probably agree if the extra kiddo was a teenager using lots of water etc. but a 4-yr old? That was a bit much. Last trip as well as this year there was no charge for the youngest child. Just keep asking how each agency handles it.

Thanks for the info. My kids are 16,13 and 9.My 9 yr old would be more comfortable in with the other kids.So all we need is 3 bedrooms 1 for hubby and me and another couple and the kids. You speak of rentals agencies, is there any other better than others. Sorry so many questions this is just my first time, not to St. John but renting a villa.

Thanks alot waterguy , The villa looks amazing and close enough to cruz bay which is exactly where we want to be. It sure is nice to hhave some feed back from someone who has stayed at villas .They all look so nice in the pics ,but you really never know. Thanks and if anyone else has some villa ideas please let me know. I have somehow been put in charge of renting the villa. Our price was around $3,000 for the off season .

Villa Sea View has a set up you might be interested in. 2 King Rooms on the main level each with their own full bath and two king (or twins) rooms on the lower level that share a full bath. We stayed there in June. We paid $3100 for a week. Very close to Cruz Bay via 4WD. All roads are paved. Seaviewhomes.com

I say stick with the 3 bedroom villas. You might get hit up for an extra 30 or so per night, but you don't have to worry about paying for a full 4th bedroom since there isn't one.
