L&L Jeep Rental

Post by genas »

I am renting a car on St. John in December and this company seems to have good rates - has anyone used them - any info appreciated!

We have used them and would do so again. The cars have been new, well maintained and very clean. They do not have a lot in town to park in if that is important to you. I do think cat recently had a bad experience with them. Maybe she can chime in.

I replied in a PM. Basically I will not use them again for fear of having to deal with the people I had to deal with. Hopefully the ones you encounter will be having better days!

There was nothing wrong with the Jeep but it was tired.

We used them in June. They had the car waiting at the ferry dock and met us there again when we left. No drama. We would use them again.

We didn't use them but Cat and Kenneth did.

I saw two problems with them.

One, they left rather than waiting for us at the ferry dock. They said they saw us getting off the ferry (we were the last ones off - already on island time and also stopped to take two pics) and didn't want to wait. So instead of having their car waiting for them, they had to wait for their car. Jerry was able to walk to Courtesy and get our car and come back in almost the same amount of time it took them to get theirs. So while Jerry and I were enjoying our last hour on STJ, Cat was going back and forth to the Texaco station with the guy from L&L.

The other was the trouble they gave Cat about the gas. Rather than just charging her more money because they believed she didn't fill up, she ended up being at the Texaco two or three times while the dude was trying to prove a point. Cat didn't care, she would have been fine with them charging extra so rahter than have a stress free morning, she had to deal with that.

Luckily, all of us are easy going so it wasn't a problem. Cat did say the $$ savings using L&L wasn't worth it in the future.
