The 1st Florida Gathering (I think it's the first)

Post by FlaGeorge »

OK, its official - The Florida Gathering will be Oct. 13 at the Hurricane Restaurant ( http://www.thehurricane.com/ ) on St. Pete Beach. All are welcome to attend. It's time to put faces to names and find out your real names too.

Bring your appetite, cause the food is good too. Our favorite island drinks - Painkillers and Bushwackers will be flowing that day. See you then. Remember - we'll be on the roof top unless the weather is bad. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, we'll move one floor down.

I (FlaGeorge) will be the guy with the big funny hat (looks like the Flying Nun hat).

I just spoke to Gizzmo and there's a chance that if enough folks show up for this thing - the Hurricane will close off the roof top for us. Gizzmo gave me the contact info for the Hurricane. I will post a time after I talk to the Hurricane.

So - who's coming.

We'll be in Cozumel! We'll have a few painkillers so that we feel like we are there though!

Works for me - lets fill up the roof top with St. John Junkies.

Flip Flop - you need to get to this one. It can be the primer for your Nov. trip.

That is a Sunday....I am here in S. Fl I want to come..I wonder how long it would take to drive from Hollywood FL to St. Pete or would it be better to take a plane. I was planning on a road trip.....you can bring doggies to the roof top can ya?

Oct. 13 is a Saturday. And I'd say it's about a 4.5 hour drive from Ft. Liquordale. A flight would be quicker. As for dogs. I don't think they are allowed on the roof top. I know that the Hurricane has a special table out side on the ground floor for folks with pets. Sure would like to see you at this gathering.

Oct 13 is a Saturday. From Hollywood it's about a 3.5 hour drive, give or take. Lyne was born and raised in Hollywood! Not sure about dogs, we're picking up our new puppy, a Golden Retriever, this weekend, would love to bring him with us.

When I did mapquest it was 249 miles. What time Sat are you all meeting?
I wish it was a sunday......I have clients and I have too see if they are willing to train another day.
If I left at 10A I could be up that way by 2p I think. Also I would drive, need suggestions for a good place to stay that is not $$$ and safe.....
I would love to meet forum people, I have been off island almost 2 yrs and it would be cool to hang and drink with 'locals'...........:)

We're shooting for 2:00pm on Saturday Oct 13.

I found this place that is right next to the Hurricane and it's only $80 per night. http://www.keystonemotel.com/default.htm

Another hotel option is the Bon Aire, we've stayed there before, nice location on the beach, maybe 10 minutes to The Hurricane. Great little Tiki Bar!
