We've been keeping shorter hours and closing at 5pm for this slow season for a number of different reasons which I'm sure everyone would find quite boring.
I'm sorry we missed you. Hopefully we'll meet next time.

Jayseadee (and everyone else),

Don't I know it!

It is awfully slow right now, but we still have a lot going on and we really don't like to close for more than a few days. We have customers who've been coming at this time every year for years and they were very upset when we were closed for five weeks when we moved St. John Spice out of Wharfside and we were building the new store.

We do have some really exciting plans. For instance, I selected an "unsealed" terracotta tile for the new St. John Spice store and it's such a dirt magnet I am unnaturally obsessed with it. I am not kidding, I walk around with a bottle of 409 and a wad of paper towels all day. It's ridiculous. So apparently if we scrub the thing to death first we can put a few coats of sealer on there and I can then find something else to be stupidly obsessed about.

Are you bored yet?

Really, it's kind of embarrassing that people are reading this thread thinking they're going to read about our Life of Glamour or something.

I feel I should offer some news or something for everyone who has read this far. So I’ll tell you that we are selling St. John Kids. Tomorrow at 10AM.

I’ll update you all after that.

Like Cypress said, I'm never bored with your reports.

Will your hours be shorter in November?

Ruth - I'll take 4 kids. 2 for yard work and 2 for house work. Just kidding of course, it stuck me funny - "selling St. John Kids". Hope all goes well with the sale.

I'm available to help you seal the floor. All I ask for in return is room & board and all the rum I can drink.

Have a great day.

Ruth, will you be open Nov 7 - 14th? I'd love to pick up some spices and other things when I'm there and of course meet you.

I also want to write in that sand where the camera is....just can't think of what to write!

Any suggestions?

Ruth, congrats on selling the Kids store. Does that mean you'll go down to work 6 1/2 days during the busy season?!

Cheers, RickG
