Strap for Olympus SW Owners

Post by Steve S »

If you're an Olympus 720 or 770 SW owner, you know the little guy sinks like a rock. The standard strap is really too short and I used a rubber band strap from an underwater disposable that the nice folks at Cruz Bay Photo gave me as an extension on my last trip down. Now, there is a bouyant strap made specifically for the 770/720 that will float it if you loose your grip. $15. See it here - Strap

Steve! I did not have any trouble with the original strap, but maybe I was just lucky. This looks good. Thanks!

Oh NOOOOOO! I have not bought this camera because it is to expensive to loose. Now I have to come up with another excuse. This camera is SMALL and does not look like it can handle underwater. I also see ALOT of refurbs on EBAY which scares me. Please advise more about this B4 I buy!

Steve, thenks for the heads up on the strap. We just bought the 770 a couple of months ago. When we bought it, I had looked up some old threads and saw your many positive comments about it. So far we love it but haven't had the opportunity to take any "cool" pics. Looking forward to trying it out on STJ. BTW, you guys always smoke me on the trivia. I never knew I read that slow! Sports and religion will get me every time.

gizzmo, The day we got the camera, my husband threw it (literally) into the deep end of our pool for a test drive   . No problem mon. I think it's quite user friendly too and I am electronically challenged
Going "home" again October 26th!

Thanks Brenda. I too tend to not know the sports questions. Like today for instance. My success on the religion questions is spooky... I'm no scholar, but when I put my sub-conscious to work with a guess, it seems to work. Must be those years of church school and pew fidgeting buried deep inside me  .
