Parafins trip report#3
Parafins trip report#3
Thurs. July 19th. We left the cottage early,8:30 a.m. We set off from Coral Bay to hike the Brown Bay trail. This is another spot that we've not been to. At Brown Bay we began to load supplies into our backpacks. All of a sudden 7 donkeys arrived at our jeep. I think they wanted lunch.The kids thought they we cool,but I just wanted to get out of there. So up the trail we went meeting a local and his two dogs along the way. The trail was not all that bad and we showed the kids the cati{suckers} along the way.I sure didn't want the kids to step on them. Finally we came to the conch shells on the trail and I knew we were there. The sea was a bit rough and the clairity could have been better. Daniel found the first conch in the water and was impressed with it.I have a pic. of him with it.There was tons and tons of conch shells in the water.I never did see and turtles or seastars. It looked like a good area for them. We stayed a while taking pics. and viewing the salt pond. That pic. is included too. My wife and my two children decided to head back and Tyler and I went off looking for the ruins. I never did find them and later discovered That they were hidden near the salt pond.I even had my Off The Beaten Path book with me! I should have read it!! By this time Tyler had blisters forming on his feet so we headed back. We made it back to the jeep and headed off to Vie's Snack Shack. Closed! Rats!! We left there, going back to the cottage for lunch. After lunch we drove over to the Westin to enjoy the pool. We spent some time there swimming and buying $7.00 drinks.{My wife doesn't drink but the virgin drinks cost just as much as a boozy one!}
After the Westin we went back to the cottage ,changed and headed to Cruz Bay for dinner. The Lime Inn was our pick. $80.00 for five of us,not bad! They don't have french fries on the kids menu,they serve wild rice! Guess who ate wild rice leftovers for the remainder of the trip? That right! Me!! After dinner off to the cottage and bed
P.S. I hope I didn't make a lot of mistakes in typing this report.I had to do this on my lunch hour. Also it doesn't look like my the salt pond pic. turned out!

Pia's puppy's
Pia,I had no idea that was your hubby! We talked to him breifly and petted the doggies. Now as for the question about how long it takes to hike the trial.I think it was about 20 minutes if I remember right. We took our time and had the beach all to ourselves!
