My hubs has the same feeling on the room locations. I am going to make him read your observations on Hawksnest. Not being able to stay at his first choice of location is one of the reasons we haven't stayed at Caneel since our son was born.

We have always stayed in premium ocean view rooms. Not again. What was great about Hawksnest was the wonderful breeze to cool us in the hot weather. Also, it is two steps to the beach with an abundance of shade. Great snorkeling too. I also like the arrangement of the room better. I felt it was more comfortable. If you like walking, this is the ideal spot. I hope you get back soon. SRT
