STJ Long Term Rentals

Post by RickG »

Is there a good source for long term rentals on STJ besides word of mouth?

Try Rick and Carol at Scenic Properties 340-693-7777 all they handle is long term but just remember the "long term" houses are nothing like the rental villas, and for what you get on STJ vs what you get Stateside, cost alot more :)

Rick, I think you do better on this on island. Pia is correct in that long term rentals are seldom the "villas" that we rent. Connections East has a bulletin board that is a good place to start. On the net, I think chances of finding a good long term deal are slim and none, and Slim's outta town.

Thanks for the tip PIA. Yah, I've perused the listings at Connections and I expect short-term->long-term may be the way to go.

Jorge, I'm not going to try to do the tech consulting gig from STJ. Though Miami would work with weekends on island! Are you looking for a roomie?

This is for someone close to me who's ex is moving far away with his only son. His reason for sticking around is leaving town soon. He spent two years on St. Thomas until Marilyn blew him off island, so his eyes are wide open.

Cheers, RickG

FYI: Recently, we were in the process of buying a home on StJ that we wanted to rent out long term. Just to "test the water" we put an ad in Tradewinds and on the bulletin board at Connections and we got bombarded with telephone calls. When we shared pictures of the property with likely prospects, we got offers of advanced rental payments, etc. Long term housing on StJ is scarce! Sad.

BTW, the house purchase fell through, too.

Just curious. Is your office in Mongoose Junction?

I thought I read somewhere that it was by the SunDog Cafe. I think we would have had lunch sitting right across from you. If so, wish I would have known. We would have stopped in to say hi. There's always November :)

Hey Brenda

Just let me know when in Nov and I'll meet you for lunch - Sun Dog is a great restaurant and a great forum "meeting place" (it's where I met Jorge and the gang for the first time :) )
