Villa suggestions for family of 6?

Post by IA Joe »

We just got back from our first USVI trip two days ago and we already thinking about when we can get back! Next time will be taking our 4 kids, ages 6-13, though, so the villa that we used will not work for the whole family. I would like your help pointing me to some villas that will work well for a family. Here is what I am looking for:

* Villa must be on St. John. Anywhere on island is fine, but everything else being equal, closer to Cruz Bay would be better.

* Need 3-4 bedrooms, 2 with twin beds and one or two with either a king or queen bed. (A 4 bedroom villa would allow grandma and granpda to tag along.)

* Larger than average pool would be nice, to keep the kids occupied.

* A/C, at least in the bedrooms, and preferably throughout the villa.

* Close to the water, or at least very nice views.

* Reasonably priced. Since we will be there with children and not with other couples, there will be nobody to help share the bill.

We don't need anything luxurious, or even super fancy. Just something clean. Any suggestions you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know when you are going back, but Sapphire Breeze Villa from vivacations.com seems to fit your criteria. Our kids loved the infinity edge pool, waterfall and underwater window that we sat and laughed for hours on their many underwater stunts!! There is an apt. downstairs for privacy or grandparents! Check it out!
Cheers!

I don't know what your price range is, but we really liked Ristaba which is in Chocolate Hole North just above the Westin. If the kids wanted to, they could walk down to the Westin as well.

The pool was VERY big but got deep quick so you could basically only stand up close to the steps.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to pm me.

Welcome back to reality.
It sounds like you liked STJ. Bringing your kids will be fun, but it is very different. If you want some kid suggestions I can definitely give them to you. Our kids did great though and were up early every day ready to take on a new beach.
It was nice meeting you and your wife at the Banana Deck and ar Trunk Bay.

Check out Villa Villakula by seaviewhomes.com. It has 5 bedrooms, is on the water on Great Cruz Bay and comes with a couple of kayaks so the kids (and you!) can tool around the bay and paddle over to the Westin. This a comfortable house, not overly fancy, but very convenient to Cruz Bay and has a nice pool. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, one is a small bedroom with twin beds, the other is a king with it's own bathroom. There are 3 queen bedrooms upstairs. The house is very attractively priced.

We will be staying at Sapphire breeze starting this Thursday night. There looks to be a downstairs apartment with twin beds, plus a loft area with a double bed and another bedroom with king or twins. I'll try to write a report when I get back.

We rented Vistaero when we went with our four kids a couple of years ago. It seems to fall within your specs on all counts.

We liked it so much that we are renting it again this summer for another trip with the kids.

Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

We are staying in Sundance rented by Cloud Nine in August. It has three Master Bedrooms. One with twin beds and two with kings. Then there is a daybed that in one of the bedrooms that will sleep two more. It sleeps 8 total with three bathrooms. A/C throughout. Close to the water, pool, hot tub, 1.5 miles from Cruz Bay and VERY affordable.

I'll be posting a review when we return, but I received positive comments when I did my research for August.
