2018 Roll Call
2018 Roll Call
Who's visiting STJ in 2018? Forget the angsty post-apocalyptic whinging and hand wringing, who is going to just do it?
We are booked February 29-March 5. We have plans for June and Halloween.
Cheers, RickG

Re: 2018 Roll Call
Well, we did not make it last year because of the storm and with the Westin still close for the year it looks like it will be next year before I get back.
Re: 2018 Roll Call
We already have reservations for the Thanksgiving timeperiod this 2018. We were supposed to be there this last year - Thanksgiving but we all know what happened!! We just moved our reservations out a year. I also plan on returning this March - mid to late March, but no plans in place yet - waiting on some updates on a health issue and then if all is good will make plans! STJ needs my $$$

We were supposed to leave this week for a two week visit to Caneel. Based on some of the trip reports I have recently read Caneel still looks like a war zone with no apparent or at least any publicised plan on moving forward (at least that I am aware of).
We liked the ease of Caneel and of course the beautiful beaches and property.
Looks like we need a plan B for staying on St. John!

My wife and I and our two kids are trying to figure out a way back this June...currently looking for villas. We love STJ and realized the things we love most - hikin', limin' and snorkelin' - are still very much available and will probably be even more so by this June...we figure as long as we can rent a villa with AC in the bedrooms, rent a jeep and find at least one grocery store open that sells beer, rum and frozen pizza, we've got it made
It’s not about yesterday or tomorrow...It’s about today, for come what may – Sun, rain, or hurricane – we've only time for a smile, and none for sorrow

Re: 2018 Roll Call
We had booked for two weeks this April last spring and are still going. The Crows Nest in Coral Bay survived and Star Villa has one of their places ready for me and my wife. Both of those places were very nice and allowed one of our adult daughters to share with us when it looked liked Cinammon Bay would not be ready. IN between those two places we have a Villa for our adult daughters, son in law and three grandsons. Our original Villa was questionable so Carribean Villas offered us another much nicer place. They were very accommodating and offered us several choices for villas. I recommend all three very highly. (Crows Nest is through Windspree).

RickG, sorry to hear about Da Life but love the name of your new boat! Looking forward to the pics and posts of your adventures.
Wishing I could get down this year but not likely. However I'll be there in spirit!

Friends, they go away then they re-appear...I believe there is Magic here.
Re: 2018 Roll Call
Well in between Irma & Maria I changed our 2017 vacation to STX. Maria hit then which pushed our vacation dates to March of 2018, so we'll be in the USVI this year but not on STJ. The villa we were originally supposed to be staying in on STJ survived Irmaria well & the villa owner was very willing to work with us so we left our deposit in place & pushed our reservation to March of 2019. So I feel pretty lucky to have two vacations to look forward to.
RickG...I knew DaLife was damaged but didn't realize it was so bad you couldn't fix it, I'm very sorry but glad to hear there is a new boat!

We'll be there next weekend again in March for a week and July 4th week. Our villa survived and is open for bookings.
Re: 2018 Roll Call
We are here now! We arrived on the 26th and will be here until the 14th. We're staying in Cruz Bay at Seaside properties at Grande Bay. If I could come back again this summer I would!

I fully intend for us to be there for our 16th year....just have to save up the money first
Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.
