Rewards points for airfare

Post by cliffnchristi »

Hi everyone! Has anyone used Visa rewards points (bank Visa, not airline Visa) to book your airfare? Were you able to pick your own seats? Were you allowed to do online check-in? The bank's FAQ section is so vague, I can't really make heads or tails of it. I am going to give them a call, but thought I would ask here for "real life" experiences. TIA

There are so many different reward programs and banks may vary from one to the other, but I have used Visa reward points on many trips. You can choose your seat and record your frequent flyer number.
The only problem I have had is that once or twice the information on seat and FF number did not go through to the airline. I recommend calling the airline after a day or so of making your reservation and give them your record locator and check all the data.
