Bougainvillea Jeep Rental St. John

Post by Ksea »

Anyone used them and if so do you have any comments? Do they have a parking lot? I see that question a lot here regarding rental car places. Thanks!

They are alittle way out of "town" past the Texaco station - they are part of Donald Schnell. The parking is a few spaces outside the building.
From everything I have read about them they are very nice people to work with :)

We used them a few years ago with no problems. (upon our villa managements recommendation)
I don't recall a parking lot just for their cars, but do remember that they gave my husband the keys and said "it's parked across the street." He then followed the villa rep & I in the reps car to the villa.
Since this was Oct. there were parking spots in town. I have heard parking in high season is impossible!
Last October we used St. John Car Rental and parked in their lot & walked to The Balcony for dinner. When we returned, our car was blocked by other cars in the lot and we could not get out! (very narrow driveway)
We did not know what to do, but luckily a "local" told us the owner of the Balcony also owned STJ Car Rental! Hooray! We marched back over and he immediately sat us at the bar with drinks and went to move the other cars with his spare keys an drive ours back to us!
So happy endings!
This August we are using Delbert Hill Jeep Rental since they will meet us at the dock after hours (8pm) with our rental. We are planning to use Slimman's paid parking this time & not worry about finding a spot. Good luck & happy rental car hunting!
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

Thank you Pia and Colleen! Our rental agent also hooked us up with bougainvillea and we have already secured the rental. We are going in low season so I wont concern myself with parking. How nice of that owner to fix you up with some drinks...that is great customer service!

We used Bougainvillea car rental this year and last year. Very good experience with them and nice to deal with. They accommodated Sunday evening arrivals and have 4 or 5 parking spaces in front of their building. We always used their parking when in town. Its up the hill a little ways from the ferry dock(right past the Texaco), but not a problem walking it for us. The Jeeps were in good shape and we did not have a problem with the vehicles. I would recommend them.
