Welcome! I have been hanging around since 2002 and was welcomed by many of the folks you are seeing now (like Bill in Va). You will love St. John. Since we won't be back ourselves until 2009, I am living my St. John life through all on this board - post a lot of questions and be sure to write a trip report!

You'll have a blast. Chocolate Hole is a good snorkel out around the left point, towards Devers Bay. My 15 year old daughter loves Skinny Legs, Daicquiris at Woodys, Tuna appetizers at the Beach Bay, French Fries at Island Blues and horseback riding at Carolina Corral. You 14 year old fella would probably get pretty fired up with a dinghy ride.

I wrote a newbie's guide to STJ that focused on the area you will be staying in for family last year. It's still reasonably up to date: http://www.garvin.us/STJ/New_Visitors_G ... Guide.html.

Have fun!

Cheers, RickG

Thanks Bill (neighbor) yes I know where you are! Warrenton is great. I live in downtown Leesburg, home of the high taxes! My initials are KC but i like Ksea better! Love those sea critters. I like your plan for the first day so that's what we are gonna do. Thanks again and nice to meet you.
