Need 4 more for day sail to Jost and Sandy Spit

Post by vapored58 »

We're a couple from south louisiana looking for 4 more people to sail on the White Wing w/ Clark to Jost and Sandy Spit the first week of June. Our best day is May 31.[http://www.connectionsstjohn.com/Whitewing-info.htm, (see item #2 for itenerary). We would like to go to Jost, White Bay, Foxy's, Sandy Spit, etc.., but don't want to do the ferry thing. Trevor at "the bestofusvi" said if we could get six to go, Clark would probably take a day off from building his house and do the trip.
Clark sails from Coral Bay and has a 9 am - 6pm sail w/ very reasonable rates. He also comes highly recommended.
Any takers??? what would be your best day???

I so wish I would have known about this last week! We so wanted to sail on White Wing, but when I talked to Clark last week he said he was booked for the week of 5/27 - 6/3. So, we booked with someone else and have already put down a deposit. And, we are from South Louisiana, too.

My husband & I will be in St. John from 05/26/07 - 06/02/07. We are from Metairie. We wanted to take a day trip to Jost, but have yet to book anything. The only days we have anything scheduled is diving on the 27th & 29th. We would definitly be interested in joining you. Please let me know what the cost would be.

We sailed with Capt. Clark on May 1st. He is a wonderful host. We went to Jost and Sandy spit, it was a wonderful day. There were 3 of us and we had a conversation during the sail that if there had been 6 people onboard the seating area might be a bit cramped. But this is just my opnion. He will take less than 4 people but you have to pay for four. The total cost for 4 was $480.00 not including tip. We left at 9A.M. and did not get back until 8.30 P.M. and the day just flew by.

I just looked at the prices listed on the web site referenced in the original post. The prices are very reasonable. We are definitly in if you can find 2 more and get Capt. Clark to take off. Please PM me with any additional info.

We sailed with six and it was fine space wise, but we were all friends so maybe that is why it didn't seem crowded. Our sail lasted until well into the evening as well and Chip tells everyone that it was the best birthday trip ever. We really had a great time and I can not recommend him highly enough.

Our sailing trip to the Jost Van Dyke will be on Survivan and anther day we are taking a powerboat, Limnos to the Baths & Normans.

Survivan doesn't go to Sandy Spit & I really wanted to go there and he doesn't provide lunch like White Wing does. Limnos will provide lunch.

There will be 4 in our party. All 4 of us are going on Survivan, but only hubby & I are going on Limnos.

We are in your age group, mid-40s to early 50s. It would be fun to have a little get-together.

white wing goes to sandy spit because he leaves from coral bay insead of cruz. this was/is a good itenerary for us.

we're also going to virgin gorda/caves/indians w/ flyaway charters on june 5. this is one trip i've been looking forward to. love to be in the water snorkeling. could stay there all day.

will try to meet up for sure. i'll pm you with more info. phone #'s and such so we can contact each other on the island. we have cingular and they said it should work w/ no problems.

we thought about renting our own boats, but i think you gain so much from having local captains educate you as you see their islands. and the relaxin w/o worrying about running over something is way worth it too!!

alright, i had stayed off the boards for awhile, now i'm getting all jazzed up again. less than 10 days...i'm going start packing.
