Question about Dive Trips on STJ

Post by Jan&MikeVa »

One of the guys in our group dives, but none of the rest of us do.

Any suggestions on him hooking up with a group? He'd like to get in a couple of dives, just not sure which direction to send him in. I fairly clueless on this topic.

Thanks!

Hey Lady. Think about going out of Caneel with Chris Sawyer. While he dives you guys can use the beach and restaurant etc....That is what I have done in the past. Sandie does the beach rat deal and we have lunch when I get back from the dive. God bless...Bill

Jan-

We may do a shore dive on our own. We're not sure yet. My uncle LOVES to dive, so it's likely, just not 100%. I've got your # and you have mine, so if we decide to, I'll let you know. Mike would be more than welcome to join us!

Thanks Bill for the tip (I'll check out Caneel)!

Vicki, we'll stay in touch then. It's my nephew Steve that is the diver; Mike was going to get certified, but the past 2 months he's been too busy.

Bill
- maybe Mike will be ready to go with you in December!!

Jan, we dove last week with Colette of 6-PAQ Scuba. You can contact her at the numbers below or send her an email (both would be a good idea). She was great and really knows her stuff! We did both a boat dive and shore dive with her and had a blast. Her boat leaves out of the National Park dock.

I also like Low Key in Cruz Bay. It depends on your schedule what works best. In the past I got in a 2 tank morning dive when the rest of the gang was spending the day at the villa. Low Key was very convenient when we were staying in Chocolate Hole.

I’m with Dr. Curly on this one – I’ve been out with Colette of 6-Paq several times and she and her crew are the best. I like her operation, because she only takes a max of 6 divers.

I have also been out with Chris Sawyer operation out of STT and too we’re very good. At the time – they had a huge boat that would hold 20 divers – we got lucky on the day we went and it was just 5 of us (my wife, me, divemaster and 2 instructors). We had a good time with them too.

I guess that we just like the smaller groups.
