Server migration coming up - forum might be down for a bit!

We are almost done with the biggest behind the scenes change here is quite some time - a full server migration. Soon the forum (most of everything else we do is already done) will be migrated to brand new hardware in the "Cloud" (which is really just semantics - if there was ever an industry buzz term that was useless... but I digress) -

There may be 2 issues -

1. You might not be able to get to the site at all for a brief period during the DNS change -

2. The forum itself will be locked to any new posting for maybe a few hours. I am trying to plan this for overnight, probably either Sat. or Sun.

That should be all that happens, and probably only 2 of you will notice anything (you know who you are!)

- so far we have moved about 40 sites without any major issues, but Virgin Islands On Line and Caribbean On Line, the two most active and largest will be the last two to go... so you can all cross your fingers for me.

Good luck! Always fun... Nobody owns servers anymore. I had to give my last one away.

I didn't own mine either - Rackspace did

(and still does!)

Yes, a real dinosaur situation - I think I have paid over 100k in hosting fees since we started in 95 - maybe over 120k - kind of makes my stomach hurt

News on the update - it will be happening either over night tonight, or maybe overnight Tuesday - depending on the what the Jets do in Atlanta
