Ferry over to Tortola for the day?

Post by SusanNJ »

Hi All,
I wanted to get everyone's thoughts about doing this for the day? I noticed the Inter Island Ferry takes you to West End, Tortola. My husband and I usually take the ferry over to Jost, but this year we were thinking about trying something different. We've been to Virgin Gorda as well but never really Tortola (just a ferry stop and stayed on the boat). Is this worth going to for the day? Recommendations of what to see or do or should we just head back to Jost?

Thank you,
Susan

I've been to Tortola..so I wouldn't take a day trip there again..just because I love STJ so much..
But if you have never been for any length of time, and have already been to Jost, VG, etc..then why not? It's close, it's accessible, and then you can check it out and see what you think.
Rent a car and explore the island. Stop in Cane Garden Bay. If there is a cruise ship in it will be really busy, so after that then I would head over to Brewer's or Smuggler's Cove. I also like Soper's Hole, it's pretty with the bright colored buildings and shops, and the boats in the marina, etc..Hope you have a great time. If you rent a car, rent from Jerry's and ask him to bring it to you at the ferry. He has always been great about working with us. We have stayed on Tortola 3 times..Pam
