Farewell STJ...walk of woe soon come

Post by KTinTX »

Nursing my last VI Summer Ale at the High Tide. Going to go grab our bags from Connections and catch the 1 pm ferry. Then a short ride with Rachel. Was great meeting several forumites this trip and we already are planning the next. Trip report soon come.

I can relate...been back a few days now and the post vacation blues have definitely set in...for eight straight days I woke up in a cloud overlooking half of STJ stretching about 1000 feet below us (we were on Bordeaux Mtn)...somehow the two-foot drop from my bedroom window to the backyard lawn below is not exactly helping re-entry....go figure.

The lesson here: St. Augustine is no substitute for St. John.

BTW, your last VI Beer reminded me...it was about 11:40am and we were waiting for the noon ferry at the dock and I just told my wife I had to have one more taste of STJ and ran over to Beach Bar, but they were crazy lunch busy. So then I ran over to Joe's Rum Hut and got two Lime n' Coconuts. But it had been raining and the pathways around the bars had gotten slippery. So while trying to hurry back to the dock as I could see them boarding, I slipped and my hands clinched the two plastic cups sending frozen libation up in the air and all over me.

Good times, that would be called the Walk of Doh!
It’s not about yesterday or tomorrow...It’s about today, for come what may – Sun, rain, or hurricane – we've only time for a smile, and none for sorrow

54b,
I am SO sorry your last "taste" of STJ, was lunched into the air :? ....But THANK YOU for the morning chuckle...lol...

Just the picture of that, in my mind...It was a case of so sad for you ...but so funny sounding .. :P
Glad you didn't fall and hurt yourself..That would be the pits of a vacation ending...
